A cosy welcome

Gary Stewart is a Scottish singer/songwriter who has carved out a strong fan-base in his adopted home of Yorkshire with songs about paranoia, love & resilience. When not playing his own music, the left-hander plays drums for fellow Bandcampers Hope & Social, bass for Leeds-based Fleetwood Mac tribute ‘Weetwood Mac’ and performs regularly up & down the U.K, performing Paul Simon’s classic 1986 album ‘Graceland’ with his seven-piece band.

New Song – ‘In June’

I’ve recently started writing again after a long while and the first finished song is now available on my Bandcamp page. It’s called ‘In June’ and is about my Mum who passed away last June. It’s very much a demo but I feel I will record it how it is in this version – just a guitar and vocal. You can listen and buy the song HERE.

May 2024 – I am embarking on my first solo tour, so check out where and when on my gigs page! If you fancy coming to any of the shows, I’d really appreciate you being there. Thanks!

July, She will fly…

Wow. More than half-way through the year already! Tempus fugit and all that…News! Is there any? Ahem…I’ve got a tan. I recently turned Forty(cough)something. I took a tour of the Bombay Sapphire Distillery in Whitchurch. Did you know that EVERY single drop of Bombay Sapphire is produced at Laverstoke Mill? Oh. You did? Hardly news then really really. Spoil-sport. So…

GIGS

June saw me back behind some drums after a while for a gig in Settle with The Mighty Young – a new(ish) band that have been brought together to play out Rosie Doonan & Ben Murray’s acclaimed ‘Mill Lane‘ Album. You can watch us do a song HERE;

We also played our first Festival of 2023 with Graceland – the fabulous Moonbeams Festival – a firm favourite of ours and hosted by our Agent boss 😉 It was a ‘damp’ affair but that didn’t stop us having the best time ever. And the rain actually literally stopped just before we started to play!!

MAY 2024 TOUR!!!

I’m doing it. I’m finally going to be packing my little Corsa up with my guitar, amp and all the albums I can carry and heading out on Tour next May!! I’ll be taking in Yorkshire the first half of the tour(Ripley, Settle, Wetherby, Helmsley) and then I’m venturing South for the second half(Birmingham, St.Albans, London, Southampton, Winchester, Bath and Exeter). I’m both excited and nervous in equal measure. Do please check my gigs page for the actual shows and venues and I’d love it if you could come to a show that’s near you!

NEW RECORDING

I recently recorded a guitar and vocal part for a song that’s going to be included in the lovely Edwina Hayes new record!! It’s a cover of a very well-known song but that’s all I can say for now… 😉

GRACELAND SHOWS – SEPT

Couple of big shows coming up in September!! First is on the 8th at the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds. Second is in my hometown of Perth at the Concert Hall a week later, on the 15th. I’m really excited to A) be back at the finest venue in Yorkshire and B) bring the band to my home-town for the first time!! Ticket links in the gigs page.

That’s all for now folks. I guess there was some news after all. Be good and hope to see you at a show soon x
